The Designer

Kate's grandmother loved to tell this story about her when she was three years old. They were at lunch with a group of women, and one of them said to Kate “dear, you’re so cute, I’d love to get you a little something. Tell me, what would you like?” Kate responded by pointing directly at the diamond ring on her finger and said “THAT, I’d like that little something.” The ladies erupted into laughter and the story became part of Kate's family lore. Thus, it can be said, she has had an eye and love for diamonds since the young age of three.

Second to diamonds, Kate has always had a passion for objects from the past. She is fascinated with the craftsmanship and quality of bygone eras with an appreciation for their beauty, as well as a wonder for why we do not create objects with such care in modern times. Identifying strongly with her Swedish heritage, Kate has always adored Gustavian antiques and the French influence on this period. Spending a large part of her adult life split between America and France, she was able to further her love of antiques by frequenting markets and antique hubs in Europe. Over time she developed relationships with antique dealers and auction houses all over the globe, always treasure hunting, and always collecting.

This collection of fine rings marries her two loves; diamonds and antiques. Kate has collected the finest Estate pieces from all over the world and reimagined them with her own style, breathing new life into these old gems. Kate works exclusively with diamonds because to her, diamonds are simply the best. They are the perfect stone for rings because they are the most durable of all gemstones. The way a diamond captures and reflects light is what makes them so captivating and mesmerizing. Their colorless quality makes them wearable with anything, anywhere. The sparkle they create brings beauty to both the wearer and onlooker. Simply put, everything looks better with a diamond, and everything is more interesting with history. These rings have both.
